I've been here two or three times now, on stays to Beaver's Bend State Park cabins.........looking for places to eat. And there is NOT a great selection of restaurants in Broken Bow/Hochatown area (other than the typical fast food chains) but some of the ones that are here are worth a shot. This is one of them. Prices fair; not too cheap but steaks are good and you HAVE to try the Chicken Fried Steak! It's awesome. Actually use a cut of steak like you are supposed to; not just ground beef. But it was tender; obviously tenderized correctly and the crust was nice, light and crisp. Gravy needed a little help with seasoning but still good. Staff has tended to be a bit spotty. Nothing to actually complain about but it kind of depends on your draw. Some are better and more attentive than others. But you shouldn't be disappointed based upon the paucity of restaurants in the area........

The Ribeye was excellent. Nice atmosphere and friendly service. Draft beer was served in a chilled mug which was just how I prefer it! Small but good salad bar.

Quaint little steakhouse. Very country and cosy. I would go there again. We ordered the Sirloin for 2. Yikes it was huge! We are taking home a good 10 Oz of steak. The sirloin for 2 could easily serve 4 people. My hubby said that Texas Road house's 20 Oz steak has nothing on what The Oaks calls 20 oz! We also started with the spinach artichoke dip which was surprisingly tasty as well! Oh and the rolls! Love the honey spread!

We ate here on our visit to Beaver's Bend weekend getaway and we must say that we were not disappointed. I had the Ribeye steak and it was wonderful. If it had a bit of more seasoning on it off the grill it would of been the best Ribeye I ever had. The salad bar had decent items on it though you only got one trip to it with your meal with a small bowl given to you. My wife had this huge chicken fried steak which I tried and it was delicious as well. The service was great as well keep our drinks filled and we were very pleased to have found this little gem in Broken Bow. We will be back!!

Very reasonably priced. Appetizers very cheap. We had the jalapeno chicken chunks and the spinach and artichoke dip. The dip was just ok, tasted more like creamed spinach. The jalapeno chicken chunks were really good. They bring you a big basket of them with ranch. The salad bar is not bad. Large variety. We both order the small ribeye. They were good, just very thin. I ordered mine medium, and they actually cooked it perfectly. My baked potato was good. Our server, Stacy, was SUPER nice!

It was okay, I would suggest the salad bar, we had Chcicken this evening and it was over processed at best. 2 salad bars, bake potato (butter only) cup of soup and a 7 oz grilled chicken no side ran about $30. with tip. A bit much for what we had and the quality, will be trying another place. Staff super friendly, but not to much in a hurry.

The Oaks Steakhouse was our favorite of the few places to eat we tried around Broken Bow. We were on vacation and were looking for a nice meal after a long day of outdoor activity. Luckily, we stumbled on the Oaks. The service for the entire meal was outstanding. Our waitress was very attentive and helped with all our questions about the unfamiliar menu. The food was delivered quickly, piping hot, and painted the air with it mouth-watering fragrances. Fortunately, our noses weren't fooled. Perhaps the best news of all is it is very reasonable priced. I put it in the moderate category, but it is definitely on the low end of that range. I am getting ahead of myself and should begin with the starter. Like in many southern restaurants you could have salad or cole slaw. Since it was offered, I couldn't resist giving the cole slaw a whirl. I was happy I did. It was a vinegar based slaw with a slight sweetness. Chopped very finely some might say it was too much time under the blade and that it lost a lot of its crunch. Pehaps true, but for me It invokes memories of my great grandmothers'. Needless to say, it won me over. AND it came with pickled green tomatoes. Katy - bar the door. We're gonna be here a while! I'm that guy at the steakhouse that never orders a steak. I shouldn't say never, but it is pretty rare. Nothing against beef; some other preparations draw me like a bee to a flower, but steak has never done it for me. Keeping to form, I went with the fried catfish platter. I was on vacation - arteries be damned. The corn meal breading on the catfish was nice; and, in my opinion, the only way to bread catfish correctly is with corn meal. The fry cook did a perfect job of getting it nicely browned but not overcooked. The fish was hot and delicate tucked inside a perfectly crunchy exterior. By keeping the fry to the proper heat and time, the flavor of the corn meal shines. And the hushpuppies!? "Finer than frogs' hair" as my father liked to say. They were perfect little corn bread M&M's - crunchy exterior and soft in the center. I sampled my wife's sirloin. I figured since we won't be here often, I'd better check one out. it was tender and juicy. The kind of steak that sings on its own with little or no spice outside of salt and pepper. We were lucky enough to find a real local gem in the Oaks Steakhouse, and you can bet we'll be stopping by next time we are in the area.

The Oaks Steakhouse is a nice little local place. We visited the Oaks on a Thursday night. The parking lot was full, but we were seated quickly. We were hoping to find fried pork chops on the menu, but all they had were grilled. Instead, we chose the chicken strips and gravy and the open faced roast beef sandwich. The mashed potatoes and gravy were delicious and homemade. The roll was fantastic. But, I think the chicken strips may have been frozen. We were brought a dinner salad before our entrée. The salad was ok, but a little wilted. The meal was ok. The service was great.

Horrible service. Never got to taste the food. Waitress neglected to take our order while waiting on someone else who arrived after us. Don't recommend.

For Broken Bow this was great. Catfish was cooked perfectly, baked potato was awesome as was the salad bar. Friendly wait staff. Treat yourself of big group to this place if looking for a place to eat.... Kyle from Dallas.

Not a lot of options in Broken Bow, but we found this restaurant on Yelp and decided to give it a try. Its a small place, but we were seated quickly. We had a great waitress who let me try the coleslaw before I decided what to order. I chose the slaw; it was fresh. Service was not slow even though a huge party had just ordered before us. My husband ordered the rib-eye special and asked for medium rare. It was cooked almost to perfection ( I thought) he liked it but said he could have done better ( he always says that about every steak he has eaten). :-) It came with baked potato and salad bar, which was really good, lots of fresh veggies and variety. Good ranch dressing too. I had the fried catfish plate which I was told was fresh, not frozen. Makes a difference . ;-) It came with 3 hush puppies, tomato relish, coleslaw and red beans. My entire meal was very good; I especially enjoyed the red beans, which reminded me of my own family recipe. Yummy! The best part though was the turtle cheesecake! Not sure if they make it or order from somewhere, but it was awesome! Overall, a very good dining experience. You never know what you will get when you are traveling and try unfamiliar restaurants, but we were pleasantly surprised.

YUMMY! It took awhile for us to get seated, but it was worth the wait. My husband ordered the all you can eat catfish and loved it and their hushpuppies were delish! I ordered the chicken fried steak and forced myself to eat every bite - it was that good! It was big! The food was really good, we will eat there again if we are ever around that area.

In a small crappy town like Broken Bow I don't expect the servers or staff to be that professional so I wasn't expecting much. For the prices they are charging $15-$25 just for a steak and baked potato with butter and sour cream they could at least give them some etiquette training. They are the equivalent of truck stop diner servers, nice enough, but not professional. I had the catfish, it was definitely not fresh, rubbery and tough. My wife had the 8oz sirloin. It was a very thin cut, she ordered medium-well and it was over cooked on one end and gradually ended up as rare on the other end. Her potato came with butter and sour cream out of pouches and that's it. The salad bar was nothing to rave about, basic ice berg lettuce with typical veggies. Tomatoes were all rotten though. To top it all off, when I went to pay the cashier/hostess wouldn't even leave her stool to great me, she didn't even make eye contact or ask if everything was fine. $56 with tip and I didn't even get a "thank you" from her. She literally threw my receipt on the counter in front of me and turned to talk to her friend. I was okay with everything up until that point. Her poor attitude ruined the entire experience. I will never ever return to this place and I would never suggest it to anyone visiting Broken Bow, OK.
